If your in Love with a Solider

If You’re not in love with a Soldier youra adored. If you're not in love with a soldier, you can't know adventure. You don't know smelly gray PT uniforms that require a daily washing. You can't understand green and brown camouflaged bags flooding your bedroom floor. If you're not in love with a soldier, you can't understand the meaning of the phrase "going to the field" and the weeks you spend away from each other. If you're not in love with a soldier, you can never imagine the hole in your heart when that phone call comes? "Honey, I am leaving tomorrow to go overseas. I don't know how long I will be gone or exactly where I am going, but I want you to know that I love you - always!" If you're not in love with a soldier, you don't know what it's like to say that final good-bye. You don't know what it really means to be glued to the television. You don't understand fear and you can't possibly understand the sleepless nights of endless crying wondering if you will ever see the love of your life alive again. If you're not in love with a soldier, you can't know the immense joy, the uncontrollable smile, or the butterflies in your stomach when you see your soldier march into the family waiting area upon redeployment. You can't understand the self-control it takes to stand on the other side of the room as some higher-up gives a seemingly endless welcome home speech while all the soldiers stand in formation. You don't know what it's like to have that second first kiss or what it's like to experience puppy love all over. If you're not in love with a soldier, you can't truly understand how to make every moment count because you never know when that phone call may come again. If you're not in love with a soldier, you can never really understand how very delicate life is!
This was emailed to me by another Wife. I think it portrays our life very well.

What is Military Wife??

What is a Military Wife? They may look different and each is wonderfully unique. But this they have in common. Lots of moving, moving- moving -moving far from home moving two cars,2kids and maybe a dog----all riding with Her of Course!!! Moving sofas to basements and garages because they won't go in this House, moving curtains that won't fit, moving jobs and certifications and professional development hours, moving away from friends and toward new friends, moving her most important luggage; her trunk full of memories often waiting- waiting, waiting, waiting for housing; waiting for orders; waiting for deployment; waiting for reunion; waiting for phone calls; waiting for him to come home for dinner-AGAIN!! They call her a "Military dependent" But she knows better. She can balance a checkbook, handle the yard work, fix a noisy toilet, She can file the taxes, sell a house, buy a new car, or set up a move. She welcomes neighbors that don't welcome her, reinvents her career with every PCS, locates a house in the desert, arctic, or the deep south and calls them Home. SHE MAKES THEM HOME!!! She is fiercely independent! They don't have 15 years to get to know people, Their roots are short but flexible. Military wives learn to value each other and their friendships. They have a common bond . The Military Wife has a husband unlike other husbands, his commitment is unique. He doesn't have a job, he has a Mission! He can't just decide to quit, He's on call for his country 24/7, But it's for You! He's the most unreliable guy in town!!!! Military Wife's have their moments---- They want to wring his neck, dye his uniform pink and refuse to move to Alaska!! But she pulls herself together. Give her a few days, a travel brochure, a long hot bath, a pledge to the flag and a wedding picture. And she goes, she packs, she moves, she follows. You may think she's lost her mind, But actually it is because she's lost her heart. It was stolen by a man, who puts duty first, who longs to deploy, who salutes the flag. And whose boots in the doorway remind her, That as long as he is her Military husband, She will remain his Military wife.
This was emailed to me by another military wife, but i think again it is every military wifes description. IF you have EVER been a Military wife than you would know.
