What an emotional haul it was making Dean's Birthday Cake. Its something I have been wanting to do for at least a month now for him. I had a cake lady make the white butter cream frosting up for me as I knew after trying that I could not do it. I picked up the frosting Thursday and started to bake the cake. Then another, and another and another. All three of the four cakes came out with a big hump from left to right. I was so frustrated. I called Becca my last resort. Becca is a fabulous chef, baker ect. I don't know how she does it but in know shes a clone of the cooking channel. She told me to put the batter in the pan and then slam it on the counter. I did 10 TIMES. This batch was going to work. Then she determined I was cooking it on the wrong shelf. Oh yes I was baking it on the bottom. So this cake came out fabulous. Thanks Becca.
So I was tired and thought well its done , I will let it cool and take it out of the pan in the morning. Wrong again. It stuck to the pan. Its now 730am and I am balling on the way to HEB. I was so frustrated. I just wanted to make this cake for Dean. So I was headed to get a few boxes of cake to try it a few more times. I got there and went to the bakery. I asked them If they could just make a plain naked cake for me no frosting, nothing. So they did.
I was so happy I went home to make my cake.
I had my frosting color dye and my tools and I was ready. I did a great job I thought. Dean loved it.
It was a long Haul But I DID IT.
